Google Reader + Fluid = A pleasant surprise!
In an effort to reduce the amount of memory used by applications on my computer, I’ve slowly been replacing a lot of my desktop applications with web-based application running in anĀ SSB (using Fluid).
The most recent one has been Google Reader (which replaced NetNewsWire - sorry guys!). I went through the usual process of creating an SSB with Fluid: finding a great high-resolution icon, creating the app and then setting up my favourite Olive-themed window configuration.
Next, to my surprise, my Google Reader SSB icon has a dock badge showing unread articles:

I don’t know whether I should be thanking Google developers or Fluid developers for this. Thanks to both I guess!
