Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.

In life, the only person you can truly rely on is yourself. You are the only person you have control over. This is not a bad thing. Knowing, understanding and accepting this fact makes you responsible for your own actions, and makes you independent and self sufficient. It also makes your interactions with others more harmonious, since you will not be trying to control or sway their actions for your benefit.

I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.
